Set right on Paje Beach on the southeast coast of Zanzibar, Mr. Kahawa is the sort of place that seems to understand what a beach holiday is really supposed to be about: good food, warm people, bare feet, strong coffee, cold drinks, music in the evening and absolutely no need to rush. It is relaxed without feeling sleepy, lively without becoming overwhelming, and comfortable without losing that unmistakable Zanzibar character.
The rooms are surrounded by tropical greenery and designed with a colourful, relaxed island feel rather than the slightly anonymous look that can come with large international resorts. Some of the suites have balconies or patios, giving you somewhere to sit and enjoy the surroundings without having to go anywhere at all.
