Your adventure with Elevated Tanzania Safaris begins with a warm welcome and a pick up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha. From here, you travel to the remarkable Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant population, and huge baobab trees. The Tarangire River attracts many animals including zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and various antelope species, making it an excellent location for game viewing throughout the year. It is one of the best parks for travelers who enjoy a more relaxed safari experience with fewer crowds and rich wildlife moments.
In the dry season, the Tarangire River becomes the only source of drinking water for many kilometers around. Because of this, large herds of elephants come to Tarangire, making Tarangire the home to the largest population of elephants in Northern Tanzania for most of the year (especially June - October and December - March). Elephants are not at all intimidated by visitors to the park, and they often come quite close to cars. This is completely safe, since elephants have no enemies in their natural nature they are naturally curious and unafraid. After an exciting game drive and picnic lunch in the park, you will continue to the charming highlands town of Karatu near the Ngorongoro area for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tarangire is also a beautiful park for photography, with landscapes that feel wide, and full of character. As you journey through the park in your private safari vehicle, your experienced guide will help you uncover the stories of the wilderness while searching for remarkable wildlife. Keep your camera ready to capture the wild beauty of Tanzania's Great Park.
Pause for a mid day picnic lunch surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature, before continuing your afternoon game drive. After an exciting game drive through this park, you continue your journey to the highland’s town of Karatu near the Ngorongoro area, where you will relax and spend the night while preparing for the journey into the Serengeti the following day.
