The Ngorongoro Crater Exclusive Day Adventure is a full day safari designed for travellers who want to experience one of Tanzania’s most famous wildlife areas without spending several nights in the region. The journey takes you into the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater, home to a rich concentration of wildlife. The crater is known for its strong population of lions, elephants, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippos and hyenas, while the endangered black rhino may also be spotted in the quieter areas of the crater floor.
A private safari vehicle and experienced guide allow the day to be enjoyed at a comfortable pace, with opportunities to stop for wildlife viewing and photography along the way. A picnic lunch is usually enjoyed at a designated spot before continuing with the afternoon game drive.

Spend a full day exploring the Ngorongoro Crater, one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife destinations. Formed from an ancient volcanic caldera, the crater creates a natural enclosure where large numbers of animals live throughout the year, making it one of the best places to enjoy a varied game drive within a relatively compact area.
Your day begins with an early departure towards the Ngorongoro Highlands, followed by the descent into the crater. As you drive down the winding road, the landscape gradually opens into wide grasslands. Keep your eyes open for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, hyenas and, with some luck of the endangered black rhino.
A private game drive gives you time to explore at your own pace, stopping when there is something worth seeing or photographing. You may come across a pride of lions resting in the grass, zebra and wildebeest moving across the plains, or flamingos gathered around the shallow waters of Lake Magadi.
Around midday, enjoy a picnic lunch in a designated area while taking in the surroundings before continuing with your afternoon exploration. Your guide will help you understand the wildlife, the crater’s geology and the relationship between the landscape and the animals that depend on it.
Later in the afternoon, begin the ascent from the crater floor and make your way back towards Arusha or your onward destination. It is a full day in the field, with plenty of time for wildlife viewing, photography and simply enjoying the changing scenery of the Ngorongoro Highlands.
