Barranco Camp situated at the base of Kilimanjaro’s Barranco Wall is an accommodation campsite used by climbers scaling Mount Kilimanjaro to rest and spend the night via the following routes: Machame, Umbwe, Shira, and Lemosho routes with an attempt to reach to the summit. Descent doesn’t go through Barranco campsite as it takes an entirely different way.
All climbers using Barranco Camp as accommodation have to bring along their own tents as there is no presence of any cabin accommodation or huts. Potters usually carry these tents.
